Squirrels are a major nuisance, especially when they begin to invade your space and get into your garage, shed, or into your home itself. These pests are excellent climbers, so they can get up your six-foot fence easily, and they can climb onto your roof or get into your attic if they want to. These pests can cause a lot of damage, leaving a mess in their wake, not to mention they could also be carrying diseases and other pests with them that can also cause you problems. Remove Feeders
Remove bird feeders and squirrel feeders from your yard. This is going to attract these pests, and you want them to be gone, not be lured to your home again and again. Remove all types of feeders, even those that say they can prevent squirrels from getting into it. You may also want to remove bird houses that squirrels can easily nest in themselves. These pests aren't that picky, so if they've found your two-story birdhouse appealing, they will chew through it and make it their own. Remove all of these things from your yard.
Clean Up Your Landscaping
The landscaping around your yard may be attracting these pests as well. If you have nut trees or fruit trees, it may be luring these pests to your yard, and they may be using this food to eat all year long. Clean up the area around the tree or remove the fruit/nut trees altogether, if possible, in order to help keep these pests away.
Start Exterminating
Exterminating squirrels is not easy to do. You can set traps in your yard or in your shed or garage to trap these pests and relocate them elsewhere. Never attempt to handle these pests in any way on your own and hire a pest control expert to help you in relocating these pests for you. Squirrels can find their way back, so they need to be relocated far enough away. However, if you live in an area with a lot of trees, you may end up with the same issue over and over again.
